Camas nan Geall Community Dig

August 26, 2022 @ 10:00 am - September 7, 2022 @ 4:00 pm

Join us for the third stage of the exciting archaeological activity at the stunning location of Camas nan Geall on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

Following the dig in April that focussed on the pre-clearance buildings in the bay, we will now be looking at some anomalies discovered by the geophysics team, which could possibly be neolithic / iron age.

Absolutely everyone is welcome, no experience necessary, full training provided. There will be space for up to 12 volunteers per day – so “booking” is essential, though of course, it is free.

If you would like to join us, please complete this form, letting us know the days you would like to attend.

Activity will take place between 10am and 4pm each day. You can attend for part of a day, or as many days as you can (space permitting).

It should be noted that the site is difficult to access, and the first two days, and the last day, will involve lots of physical activity so participants with access issues should consider volunteering on the last three days of the first week and the first three days of the second week.

Please ensure you dress for the weather, and wear appropriate footwear. There is no shop nearby so please bring a packed lunch and enough refreshments / water.

If you have any questions, please PM this page or email: ardnamurchan@archaeologyscotland.org.uk
