DESCRIPTION:  \n \nJoin us for the third stage of the exciting archaeological activity at the stunning location of Camas nan Geall on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. \nFollowing the dig in April that focussed on the pre-clearance buildings in the bay\, we will now be looking at some anomalies discovered by the geophysics team\, which could possibly be neolithic / iron age. \nAbsolutely everyone is welcome\, no experience necessary\, full training provided. There will be space for up to 12 volunteers per day – so “booking” is essential\, though of course\, it is free. \nIf you would like to join us\, please complete this form\, letting us know the days you would like to attend.  \nActivity will take place between 10am and 4pm each day. You can attend for part of a day\, or as many days as you can (space permitting). \nIt should be noted that the site is difficult to access\, and the first two days\, and the last day\, will involve lots of physical activity so participants with access issues should consider volunteering on the last three days of the first week and the first three days of the second week. \nPlease ensure you dress for the weather\, and wear appropriate footwear. DESCRIPTION:Come along to this Free event where you will learn how to look at the landscape with an archaeologist’s eye and identify archaeological features and sites and record them. \nThis will include photography\, 3d modeling and written recording.  All necessary equipment will be provided. You should be prepared to travel over rough ground. Please dress for the weather – typical outdoor gear for the West Highlands. DESCRIPTION:Week 1: Friday 22/4/22 – Tuesday 26/4/22\nWeek 2: Friday 29/4/22 – Wednesday 4/5/22 \nJoin us for some exciting archaeological activity at the stunning location of Camas nan Geall on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. \nAlthough plans are fairly fluid\, we are aiming to focus on the Medieval/Iron Age archaeology of the bay in this next phase\, before looking at earlier prehistoric archaeology later in the year\, so we’ll be carrying out archaeological excavation and an archaeological survey. \nWe are out in the field every day between and including the dates above\, except the following:\nWednesday 27th April\nThursday 28th April  \nAbsolutely everyone is welcome\, no experience necessary\, full training provided.
